| Day 1
London - Darlington
We make our way through the Chiltern Hills to Stratford-upon-Avon the
birthplace of William Shakespeare. From here we continue to Coventry,
where we see both the old and new Cathedrals. Later an afternoon arrival
in Viking York takes us on a walking tour to view the imposing Minster
and stroll along the 'Shambles'. Then onto Darlington. Check into hotel
at Darlington.

Day 2
Darlington - Edinburgh
This morning we head further north where we stop for photos at Hadrian's
Roman Wall on our drive through Northumberland National Park to the Scottish
border at Carter Bar. Here we admire breathtaking views before crossing
the Borderlands and seeing the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Then on to the
Scottish capital, Edinburgh, where we have some free time before a sightseeing
tour which includes a visit to Edinburgh castle and views of Holyrood
House. This evening maybe join us for dinner and traditional Scottish
entertainment.

Day 3
Edinburgh - Lake District - Manchester
Today we drive through the Southern Uplands to the area known as the 'Devil's
Beef Tub' past Moffat to Gretna Green, where traditionally eloping couples
married against their parents' wishes. We cross the border into England
and drive along the lakes and valleys of the English Lake District to
Grasmere. Then along the shores of Windermere, through pastures reminiscent
of Wordsworth's poetry, we arrive in the city of Manchester.

Day 4
Manchester - London
Today's first stop is at Chester where an orientation tour highlights
the city walls, the Cathedral, Tudor buildings and the arcaded 'Rows'.
Next we're off to the Wedgewood Pottery Centre where we see the art of
porcelain manufacture. There is even time to pick up some bargains in
fine china before we return to London.
