| Day 1 Colombo On arrival at Colombo Airport you will be met and transferred to Sigiriya Village. Check in at the hotel of your choice. Afternoon at leisure.. Day 2 Sigiriya After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya and climb the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, built by King Kasiappa (473 - 491 AD). The lion rock is a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. See the world famous frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens" of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock. Evening at leisure. Day 3 Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy After breakfast proceed to Kandy, enroute visiting the Dambulla Rock Temple, which was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century BC. Dambulla too is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave Temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq.mtrs of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. Also, visit a Spice Garden in Matale. Check in at hotel of your choice in Kandy. Afternoon at leisure. In the late evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show.. Day 4 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya After breakfast take a city tour of Kandy - the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings. The name Kandy conjures visions of a glorious past, legend, folklore, mystery and traditions lovingly kept alive for countless years. Visit a Gem lapidary. Also, visit the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, which was originally the pleasure gardens of the Royalty. Nearly 4000 species of plants are found in this garden and it is encircled by the Mahaweli River. Thereafter proceed to Nuwara Eliya, enroute visiting a Tea Plantation and a Factory. Nuwara Eliya is the location for one of the finest 18 hole Golf Courses in Asia. Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 ft) is located here. Check in at hotel of your choice in Nuwara Eliya. Day 5 Nuwara Eliya - Colombo After breakfast proceed to Colombo via Kitulgala where the famous "Bridge on the River Kwai" film was made. Enroute observe the two waterfalls, Devon and St. Clare's. Check into the hotel of your choice in Colombo. Afternoon at leisure. Day 6 Colombo After breakfast take a city tour of Colombo observing the old Parliament, the residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall) and visit Fort. Also, visit the Ceramics Corporation.
