Day 3
Kathmandu / Lukla - Phakding (2652m)
Fly to Lukla by Twin Otter or Helicopter for about 35 minutes. Lukla is
situated on a hill above the Dudh Koshi River. Leaving Lukla, the trail
descends gradually passing above the large village of Chaurikharka (2680m)
and on through small villages, fields and forest following a wide well
constructed path. After Kusum Drargka, a large stream, the trail crosses
the Dudh Koshi River at Phakding. The total walking time is about three
hours. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 4
Phakding - Namche (3400m)
From Phakding the trails follows the western bank of Dudh Koshi River
passing through forests of Blue Pine until it reaches the village of Banker
(2700m). From here the trail crosses to the eastern bank of Dudh Koshi
and climbs gently to the village of Chummoa. Between here and the next
village of Monjo (2800m) the trails drops steeply to cross Monjo Khola.
From Monjo the trail crosses a small rock saddle and then descends abruptly
to recross the Dudh Koshi at Jorsale. Beyond Jorsale the trail undulates
up until the confluence with Bhote Koshi is reached. From here the Khumbu
region begins. Above the bridge the trail zigzags up 300m of the steep
spur between the two rivers through spur forests. From the top of the
spur, Mt. Everest can be seen rising above Nuptse Lhotse wall. The next
section of the trail climbs less steeply, traversing above the Bhote Koshi
until Namche Bazar is reached. Overnight at tented camp. Total walking
hour 6 hours.
Day 5
Namche - Thyangboche (3876m)
From Namche we will climb about 350m towards the twin village of Kunde
and Khumjung. The trail climbs steeply until it reaches the edge of Shynagboche
airstrip. We climb the hillside for a short distance and then take the
trail going to Khumjung. From Khumjung the trail goes down till it meets
the main trail between Namche and Thyangboche. We will descend gradually
to Teshinga, then climb steeply to Punki Tangka (3250m). From here the
trail climbs steadily to the saddle on which Thyangboche Monastery is
located. From this point we can see Everest, Nuptse, Lhoste and Amadabla,
Probably one of the best viewpoints in the world. Overnight at a tented
camp.
Day 6
Thyangboche - Pheriche (4243m)
After Breakfast descend to Imja Khola passing through the Hamlets of Buddhist
nuns and than ascend gradually to Panghoche and enter the board valley
of Pheriche.
Day 7
Pheriche - Lobuche (4930m)
Trek on flat ground along the bank of Tsola River till Khumbhu glacier
is crossed. Overnight at Lobuche.
Day 8
Lobuche - Gorekshep Base Camp
After breakfast proceed to Gorekshep. If time permits ascend to Khala
Pathar 18265ft to get a better view of the great Himalayas. Visit Everest
Base Camp.
Day 9
Everest Base Camp - Lobuche
Return via same route.
Day 10
Lobuche - Thyangboche
Return via same route.
Day 11
Thyangboche - Namche
Return via same route.
Day 12
Namche - Lukla
Return via same route.
Day 13
Lukla / Kathmandu
Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 14
Kathmandu
Free day. Overnight

Kathmandu
Transfer to the Airport for Departure Flight |
