| Day 1
Kathmandu arrival - Nagarkot
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Meet and take an
hour's drive to Nagarkot, the picturesque hilltop offering panoramic Himalayan
mountain views. Check in at Club Himalaya Nagarkot Resort. Rest of the
day at leisure.
Day 2
Nagarkot - Kathmandu valley tour | Breakfast, lunch
Early morning sunrise views over the Himalayas. After breakfast proceed
to Kathmandu valley for a full day sightseeing tour. The tour includes
the highlights of the two medieval, royal cities Kathmandu and Patan.
We have lunch at the Patan Museum Cafe. Return to Nagarkot for sunset
views. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Day 3
Nagarkot - Changunarayan - Bhaktapur | Breakfast, lunch
After breakfast we take a leisurely 4-5 hours trek, mostly downhill, to
Changunarayan temple. Considered to be the oldest temple extant in Kathmandu
valley, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built during the Licchavi
period in the 4th century. It has survived the ravages of time and an
Islamic invasion from Bengal. We have a picnic lunch in the vicinity of
the temple. After lunch we drive to nearby Bhaktapur, the oldest and the
best preserved of the mediaeval cities of the valley. After our sightseeing
tour we return to Nagarkot for our last night stay.
Day 4
Nagarkot - Sipaghat camp | Breakfast, lunch, dinner
After a hearty breakfast we hike downhill for around 4-5 hours to the
banks of the Indrawati River. Aptly named for the daughter of the king
of heavens, Indra, this river flows from its origins in the northern Himalayan
glaciers and gathers force as the monsoon rains approach. Pre and post-monsoon
season is the best time to raft on this river. Picnic lunch is served
along the way. We camp along the banks of the Indrawati.
Day 5
Indrawati raft - Dhulikhel | Breakfast, lunch, dinner
After a good breakfast, we start our rafting expedition occasionally stopping
by to see the fishermen cast their nets. Picnic lunch will be served along
the way. We reach Dolalghat and have a change of clothes and refreshments.
Then we drive to Dhulikhel another scenic town offering views of the great
Himalayan vista. We check in at our resort and have lunch. Rest of the
afternoon at leisure.
Day 6
Dhulikhel - airport | Breakfast
After an early sunrise view and hot breakfast, we are at leisure until
our departure transfer to airport.
