Bangalore - Breakfast

Lal Bagh: Hyder Ali laid out these famous botanical gardens and his son added horticultural wealth to them by importing trees and plants from several countries. The gardens today have over 1000 species of flora. The Glass House, modeled on London's Crystal Palace, is the center of attraction in this 2400-acre park.
Vidhana Soudha: This splendid neo-Dravidian granite building that dominates the northern boundary of the Cubbon Park is the home of the State Legislature and the Secretariat. The massive sandalwood door of the Cabinet room is a spectacular feature of this imposing building, which becomes beautiful of a holiday evening when it is lit with myriad lights.
The Bull Temple: The awesome monolithic deity, in this temple, Nandi, draws devotees from all over country. One of the oldest temples in Bangalore, situated in Basavanagudi, is dedicated to Nandi, the mount of lord Shiva. This 4.5 meters tall and 6 meters long monolithic bull, is supposed to be older than the temple housing it.

Bangalore - Cochin by flight

Cochin is one of the most interesting towns in South India. A trading port since Roman times, it was on the main trade route between Europe and China. Fort Cochin occupies the South promontory on the seaward side of the Bay. Cochin is also known as the commercial capital of kerala.
Evening watch Kathakali the dance drama (Optional)
Kathakali dance in one of the theatre. Kathakali is one of the traditional dance forms of Kerala. In early days the dance was performed at the temples on festival occasions. Day 4
Cochin - Munnar 4 Hours - After Breakfast, Drive to Munnar
- On arrival check in at Hotel
Munnar, Paradise of nature lovers, Munnar was the summer resort of the British government in South India. Surrounded by the Annamalai Hills, this hill station offers spectacular views of the craggy peaks, manicured tea estates, picturesque towns and winding lanes. Munnar in the wee hours of the morning is a dream, covered in mist.
Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands is the flower Neelakurinji, which bathes the hills in blue once every twelve years. It will bloom next in 2006 AD. Tiger, sambhar, bison, spotted deer, leopard, and Malabar flying squirrel, stripe-necked Mongoose etc. can also be spotted in the forest.

Munnar

- Sightseeing of Munnar : Rajamala, the natural habitat of Nilgiri Tahr, a rare mountain goat and the Eravikulam National Park.

Munnar - Thekkady 3 Hours

- Leave for Thekkady
- On arrival at Thekkady, check in to the resort.
- One of the hill stations produces large quantity of spices, like pepper, cardamom etc
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - One of the well maintained wild life sanctuaries of South India. Situated on the banks of an artificial lake formed with the construction of an irrigation dam the sanctuary is spread out over an area of 777 sq kms. Now declared as a tiger reserve, this sanctuary is the best place to see the wild elephants, bison?s, wild dogs, deer?s, water birds and occasionally tiger. Over Night at Hotel

Thekkady
- Morning take a boat ride in Periyar Lake to view wild life.
- Later after Breakfast Guided Short Trek through the Periyar and Bamboo rafting
- Later Visits the spice market in Kumily.

After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom

A nice Backwater Village hidden among the palm trees on the eastern shore of Lake Vembanad, at the mouth of the Kavanar River, Nature itself has set on an abandoned coconut plantation in the very heart of these fascinating backwaters and has been designed to give visitors an authentic insight into Kutanad life. Most of the places can only be reached by boat - a ferry leaves from one of several mainland embarkation points at scheduled times throughout the day and its accommodation consist of individual cottages called tharawads, a traditional wooden house of Kerala. Though some of these cottages are of more recent vintage, many are well over a century old and a few actually date back to the early 1700s...

Day 9
Kumarakom - Alleppey [Houseboat]

Kettuvallom or Houseboats (Rice boats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. A ride on a Kettuvallom is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters which give a glimpse of paddy fields, toddy tapping. Also you can indulge in fishing. A house boat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. The house boats have fully furnished single and double rooms with sundeck, comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with WC. In addition there is also separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef and two oarsmen. The houseboat takes s you through the scenic backwaters of Kerala. The Traditional Kerala cuisine will be served on the board.

Alleppey - Mararai Beach Half an hour - After Breakfast

Here the boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and the unwinding miles of fine white sanded beaches are washed by the surf which roars and hisses at the Coconut Palms. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse - sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programme, Catamaran cruising etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Kovalam - Kanyakumari - After break-fast

Kanyakumari; has been named after the Goddess Kanyakumari Amman who is the popular deity of the area. This is the place where three oceans joined together. Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea
Vivekananda Memorial: The memorial has been built on the Vivekananda Rock where the great philosopher - guide Swami Vivekananda went into meditation that transformed him into one of the most charismatic spiritual leaders of this century. Padmanabapuram Palace: Manor of erstwhile Venad kings, Padmanabhapuram palace is a 16th century marvel on wood. It flaunts the dexterity of Kerala's master carpenters.
